![]() Why Sidmouth? Sidmouth has lots to offer from stargazing at the Norman Lockyer Observatory to golf at one of the local courses. It is home to the famous Folk Festival in August and enters the Britain in Bloom competition each year. There really is something for everyone. Take a stroll along the promenade or take a pew in the tranquil Connaught Gardens before sampling choice local fare at one of many prime eateries, many of which are a mere stone’s throw from the shoreline. Explore East Devon's "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", walk along the South West Coast Path or take a trip to Seaton and ride the tram. Go fossil hunting on the Jurassic coast or catch a bus into Exeter, the region's capital city and explore the Roman ruins or the magnificent Cathedral. Whatever you do though, don't leave Devon without trying one of the famous cream teas. ![]() View towards Portland from Ware cliffs |
